Une villa existante, sur un terrain végétalisé en lanière, abrupte, doté d’espaces capables. Pourtant, aucun accès ou installation pour en tirer parti.
Le corps habitable de cette maison, aux surfaces de vie carencées, manquait d’une greffe: un espace complémentaire, autant contemplatif que méditatif, pour déployer des regards sur le paysage de l’Estérel. Un torii méditerranéen qui, en légèreté au sein d’un couvert végétal omniprésent, pousse à en habiter l’extérieur.
Composées de bois, de verre et de pierres, les terrasses /pergolas créées développent un horizon sur les élémentaires du site: la lumière, le couvert végétal, la mer.
L’action architecturale, menée par une intention de belvédère pour le rez-de-chaussée, crée un abri pour les terrasses sous-jacentes, engendrant des espaces étendus pour les chambres du rez-de-jardin.
La pluie, lorsqu’elle parfois se présente, ruisselle, joue des bois et des cuivres pour, au goutte à goutte, arroser d’une mélodie le jardin à cultiver.
An existing villa sits on a steep, narrow, vegetated plot, equipped with potential spaces. Yet, there was no access or installation to make use of them.
The living core of this house, with its limited interior spaces, lacked an essential addition: a complementary area, as contemplative as it is meditative, offering views over the Estérel landscape. A Mediterranean torii that, light and delicate within the pervasive greenery, encourages inhabiting the outdoors.

Constructed from wood, glass, and stone, the newly created terraces and pergolas open up horizons to the site’s elemental features: light, greenery, and the sea. The architectural intervention, guided by the intention of creating a belvedere for the ground floor, provides shelter for the terraces below, generating extended spaces for the garden-level bedrooms. When rain occasionally falls, it runs over the wood and copper, drop by drop, watering the garden with a gentle, melodic rhythm.
